Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations.  Members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as mowing the church lawns, to preparing the church bulletins.   These may sound like trivial things but they are important places to serve and in serving, God is faithful to bring spiritual growth, maturity and fellowship.

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. As a multi-generational church, we use both new and older songs.  The music volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  If you are interested in getting involved in the Music Ministry, see Pastor Mills.

Christian Education Classes

Every Sunday morning our children’s small group time is fun and creative. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. All of our Christian education teachers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Pastor Mills.

The usher team fills an important role. They are involved in greeting visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Media & Technology

In our service, we use visual aids to help communicate the gospel in a clear way. We also record the services so that they can be listened to when desired. If you like technology and would be willing to serve on this team, talk to Pastor Mills

Prayer Warriors

At the South Dayton Free Methodist Church, we rely on prayer and the hand of God for many things.  Our vibrant Prayer Ministry is the backbone of God’s work in our fellowship.  All are welcome to pray with us on Sunday Mornings at 9:00 AM.  We also pray during our services, as well as throughout the week.

Children’s Church

We offer Children’s Church during our service so that our future generation is getting spiritual nourishment at a level that they can understand.  Children’s church takes place in a room designed for them during the sermon.
                                          Quiet Room
Families are welcome and encouraged to be in the sanctuary during the entire service. The sound of children is embraced and celebrated. If parents feel uncomfortable with the noise their children may make, there is a quiet room just off the sanctuary.
